280 acres of outdoor adventure terrain - Kopachuck State Park is a world unto itself. Park your car and wander into the tall evergreen forest that blankets Kopachuck. The trails wind downhill, through the tall trees and underbrush towards the beach and Henderson Bay. 50+ picnic tables await adventurers and two moorage buoys offshore of the park. Explore Kopachuck with the kids, friends, or the pooches - exploring the tidal flats, shoreline, and the impressive stands of pine and doug fir. In the near distance, Cutts Island State Park is a tiny tree-covered daydream of an island, the kind of place you would love to have to yourself.
Lighthouse beach park
7512 1/2 Goodman Dr NW
This slice of heaven is just about the cutest little pocket park imaginable with EPIC views of Mount Rainier…and it’s only accessible by kayak or SUP or other small aquatic transport. The tiny nub of sand is home to an equally diminutive lighthouse that welcomes boaters to Gig Harbor and attracts kayakers like a porch light attracts moths. Rent a kayak at Lee's SUP + Kayak Rental, Gig Harbor Kayak & SUP Rentals or Gig Harbor Watersports and explore the harbor and Lighthouse Beach yourself. Bring picnic supplies and make some memories and don’t forget to tag #lovekitsap!
