LOVE: Romantic Views of the Sunset

Kitsap is blessed with beautiful panoramic sunsets over the majestic Olympic mountains.

Few things are as romantic as a sunset savored with a loved one so Grab your boo and head to these romantic sunset spots!

The Manette Bridge

Most regular Love Kitsap readers know by now that Manette is one of our favorite Kitsap neighborhoods and the icing on the cake is the long, pedestrian-friendly stroll across the Manette Bridge. The Bridge is the perfect place to take in the golden hours. Watch the sunset from an elevated position away from any buildings to block your view. The view of the waters below only makes the scene that much more magical.

Gold Mountain

Bremerton has its fair share of parks but Gold Mountain takes the trophy for hiking, golfing, and huuuuuge sunset views! A favorite trail among Kitsap locals, if you’re planning on heading to the top bring water and sturdy footwear and in the colder months plan on getting a little wet! Keep it more civilized by sticking to the public golf course if that is more your speed.

Tacoma Narrows

Leaving Gig Harbor on HWY 16 the only way to leave the Kitsap Peninsula is to drive over the twin Tacoma Narrows Bridge. If you’re lucky enough to be driving BACK towards Kitsap at sunset then you know just how gorgeous the view is from the bridge. Crossing the Tacoma Narrow Bridge from Pierce County to Kitsap always feels like coming home and a big fiery sunset is like a welcoming hug!

Kitsap Memorial Park

Outside Poulsbo on the shores of the Hood Canal, Kitsap Memorial Park commands a sweeping view of the waters, the Olympic Mountains, and the clouds that fill the space between. A popular wedding spot, the golden sunset light spills perfectly through the pines and cedar boughs, and the beach is pebbly and inviting - warm in the summer, chilly in the winter months - perfect for a snuggle!

Port Orchard Marina

Downtown Port Orchard is mostly unassuming but when the sun sets on Bay Street the floating walkways of the Port Orchard Marina are a wonderful way to take in the spectacle. A small marina with sailboats and small ships moored in the usually calm waters of Sinclair Inlet.

Pro tip: Watch the colors shift across the entire Olympic Mountain range while eating an ice cream cone or pastry from nearby Carter’s Chocolates.
