Maica was motivated at an early age to learn the art of business and sales. She had big dreams and used the entrepreneurial talents she gained from her parents to pay her way through college, earning her degree and attaining her goal of becoming a registered nurse. But like most entrepreneurs, there’s plenty of room for another side hustle or two. That’s where Monochromatic Finds comes in. Maica excels in the curation of vintage finds (of the monochromatic sort), along with beautiful resin pieces. Love her style and flair? She has also expanded to work with clients to create one-of-a-kind event displays or backdrops.

About Maica

What was your first job?

“My first job was helping out at my parent’s store after school. I watched the register window or helped out for about two hours each day. During weekends, I would spend half a day vending. The locals preferred small serving sizes to afford the variety they want, so we repackaged most things. From rice per kilo, coffee and sugar sachets, candies, and such by the piece, my parent’s store is designed to be a one-stop shop built around convenience. My mom knew how to adapt the store to her client’s needs. Because of this, I learned the importance of listening to your customer and knowing your market.”

Where do you draw inspiration/creativity in your life?

“I love all things vintage and neutral. Finding new ways to combine these two worlds brings me passion.”

The Genesis

Tell us the story of how Monochromatic Finds came to fruition.

“When I ventured into selling beauty products, my classmates were my first buyers. I earned enough money to buy products to sell online.
