Spring blooms are blossoming across Kitsap and there are many wonderful gardens, greenhouses and nurseries to visit to experience the very best of Spring! Here’s a round up of some of our favorite gardens & nurseries across the Peninsula that we love to visit to stop and smell the roses…

Heronswood

Gardens

7530 NE 288th St, Kingston

The Heronswood Garden began in 1987 and comprises 15 acres of botanical gardens boasting a vast array of plants from around the world, with over 8,000 varieties spread across six distinct yet integrated gardens. Purchased by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe in 2012, Heronswood now serves as a showcase for tribal culture and operates under the auspices of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Brothers Greenhouse

3200 Victory Dr SW, Port Orchard

Perhaps best known by visitors for their amazing Hobbit House, Brothers Greenhouse is a local staple for outdoor and indoor plants and garden supplies and an absolutely magical gift shop. Come and shop, but plan on spending at least an hour wandering the ground taking it all in.

Bloedel Reserve

7571 NE Dolphin Dr, Bainbridge Island

140 glorious acres of forests, beautifully landscaped gardens, and a peaceful reflection pool - Bloedel is a MUST for garden lovers and anyone who wants to relax in manicured, flowering perfection. Bloedel Reserve is a nonprofit organization devoted to nurturing this land through a broad range of engagement opportunities. Check their website for current activities and events.

Valley Nursery

Poulsbo’s Valley Nursery is a Kitsap icon with garden supplies, decor, and a massive selection of plants. The giant wooden trolls add a hint of whimsy to this expansive and welcoming nursery.


Bainbridge Gardens

With 60+ years in business, Bainbridge Gardens has stood the test of time with husband and wife owners who’s passion for all things that grow and flower is on full display with their massive selection of plants.

Courter Country Farm

Salish Trees Nursery

Roadhouse Nursery
